Oscoda's Northern Light Parade Starts the Holidays
The Holidays are here! Let’s get in the spirit and celebrate at The Sweetwater Sea B&B! We are lighting up the Inn and decorating to shine brightly this Holiday Season.
The time change has thrown us into the darkness of the winter sooner then most of would like but there are events to spotlight the bright and friendly warmth we need to keep us merry. Consider a weekend away to attend the Northern Lights parade in Oscoda which occurs on December 2 from 4:00pm - 10:30pm. Every person and every float will be decked out and shinning brightly.
At 6:00pm it is parade time. Grab yourself a spot along the street and watch as a multitude of entries go by. You will be dazzled by lights and floats and will sing along with the marching band. Watch for your favorite festive characters and see the veterans honor guard proudly add to the festivities.
Pre-parade, enjoy food and beverages at the Artisan Hall and Fire Station or decorate cookies at the Oscoda Methodist church. Grab a bite to eat (before or after) at The Edelweiss Tavern, The Office Bar or Tait’s Bill of Fare and finish your night with a free movie at the Lake Theater-ELF.
Can’t make it to the parade, that’s ok, consider ringing in the new year with a Giant Beach Ball Drop New Years Eve. The second annual count down will be in downtown with a view of Lake Huron. When the festivities end, return to the comfort of the Sweetwater Sea B&B. You can warm by the fire in the great room or snuggle under our blankets at the fire pit.
